The world of stock images has exploded since the birth of the internet. It began around the turn of the twentieth century as a way for newspaper syndicates to make money on the large libraries of photographs they had accumulated. Agencies such as Getty Images and Corbis have dominated the industry for years, but the information age has expanded the ability to distribute content through the internet. It ushered in the Microstock industry which makes it possible for amateurs and hobbyists to provide their images to the public and make a little money as well. There are several web stock sites available, but one of the most popular is iStockphoto, which was launched in 2000. Contributing artists receive royalties with the sale of each image, which are royalty free and can be sold over and over again. In 2008 I became a contributing member to iStock, and I'm slowly building my cartoon library of images. In theory, the more images you have, the more sales you can make. I'm including this gallery of my iStock art on this site to give them more exposure. The images are linked to the corresponding page on the iStock site.
